metals. Whether its derelict car bodies, white goods, roofing iron,
steel beams, railway line, concrete reinforcing, copper wire, aluminium
cans, stainless steel sinks, or brass taps, Norstar will buy and process
all metal for recycling. Norstar has invested in multi million dollar
state-of-the-art plant and equipment to process the volumes of scrap
metal generated by the manufacturing, government and demolition sectors
as well as catering for the recycling needs of the general public.
Plant and equipment
such as shredders and shears break scrap metal into small pieces
for re-melting. Eddy Current Machines separate different metals
magnetically from the residue to ensure recyclable metals are free
from impurities such as rubber, glass and plastic.

The 4000hp shredder
was commissioned in Feb 2005 which processes up to 120 tonnes per hour.
This new plant is in addition to the 1250hp shredder which was installed
in 1989.
